I agree with you on the amber it's actually got good flavor and a surprising bit of hops to it which is usually lacking in amber beers from other breweries, the blonde is utterly flavorless though.

Sounds to me their issues around the need to properly run their business/brewing operations...that take a PITA operations manager to straighten out...they should get that fixed now for their core line of offerings before trying to get creative

Their Coffee Parade Ground Porter is pretty solid in my opinion. It's a lot better than the LA 31 version. I won't hesitate to order it.

That was the Christmas one with Mello Joy? Tried it on tap and in bombers, wasn't my thing. Think it may have been the casks because the coffee flavor wasn't half bad.

. I enjoy just about any flavor. I think some of you are just silly with your reviews.

Why do we keep ending up with comments like this ni the beer threads?

Its a good local beer company improving with each product. Give me a break with these analyses, its not the healthcare reform act.

Probably because some of the reviews on here are silly and when I say silly I mean dumb. The OP said he went to the round up Friday, and all the beer was bad, or it finished poorly. So he's complaining about free beer. That's dumb

This is probably true to an extent, as long as you got a good batch of it. As I said, I've had the pale ale when it was good and then a week later another one when it was awful.

Another thing is they make a lot of beers that are not an exciting style. Many here want to see them expand their horizons. The coffee porter was a step in that direction.

Can you give us a tip sheet of the right way to discuss beer please?

I have had 3 or 4 of the Voodoo cans in the past couple months, which have all been consistent and the best I have had from them. So I am optimistic this is a turn for the good for them. Havent tried an amber can lately.

I picked Tin Roof Blonde over NOLA when I performed a taste test

Sorry if I am sounding like a smartass, but you know if you go into a thread about a beer review, you are going to get a bunch of different thoughts.

Some people area very serious about this stuff and it is their hobby or passion to discuss it in detail. Not me of course, but I still know to respect that kind of person.

Drink what you like.

it would be even better if they used real steeped coffee instead of an extract.

I knew something was different compared to their pilot batch.

No. I'm being generous with my review because i believe they could still right the ship. But right now, they aren't making anything good.

This statement is asinine. I'm concerned with quality, not the cost of beer. Their quality isn't up to par, and i believe it may have something to do with their water quality. How about some insight to your posts instead of, "quit complaining about free beer". If this is your standard for beer, i'm sure Natural Light is right up your alley.

I like butthurt would become a household phrase.

They cut too many corners (re: rutiger's point about using coffee extract).

Also they would benefit by taking a play from the "you have to crawl before you can walk" book.
