Three Muses Review (New Restaurant/Jazz Club on Frenchman)

We went last night. The feel inside was really nice...dim lights, great soft, speakeasy type jazz music. The rain added to this feeling.
I had two perfect gin martinis (one Millers and one Boogans...they were out of Hendrick's). She knocked back a few gin and tonics.
The food was good:
Feta Fries ($5) were pretty good
Lobster Eggrolls ($8) were a bit greasy but good
Chinese Brocoli ($5) very very good
Lamb Sliders with tomato chutney and herbed goat cheese($6) cooked medium and were really great.
Crab and Artichoke Ravioli (homemade as all Esses' pastas are) with a pesto cream sauce was excellent.
We had a great experience. It was packed even though it was early on a Monday night. The place made me wonder how the city has managed without a place like this. Inventive, worldly food with jazz in a nice smoke free setting on Frenchman. It seems to be the perfect marriage. I suspect this place will be a big hit with locals and tourists alike.

Myu ex went to a soft opening at Oak and said it was really good.

This is the wine bar on Oak?
Damn they opened quickly. Is it in the first block off carrolton? I drove past a couple weeks ago and there were several potential shops that could have been where Oak was moving. The whole street has just undergone one of the quickest transformations I have ever seen. It has been remarkable to watch.

With the food being overseen by Patois. She said the space was nice and the food was very good. My nephew is working there for a year until he goes to Georgetown for graduate school.
