Sounds like a good combo. Anyone cooked this or something similar and have any ideas. Thanks
Édit, i quit thinking and got it started.

Minus the shrimp
Cook bacon in pan. Remove
Add onions and cook down
Add a little chicken stock to deglaze
Add some cabbage and mix with onions and stock. Gives it some color and make sure all the grit and whatever is off the bottom of the pan
Add more cabbage, chopped up bacon, and chicken stock and cook.
I would just cook the shrimp separate and add at the end

This actually don't sound half bad, I'd love to hear how this turns out!

Why cook shrimp down in that. Make some smothered cabbage with the other two ingredients and then cook some shrimp on the grill or something.

Throw shrimp in very last after everything is cooked.

I do something similar. I throw in carrots with the onions, pour in some beer (and maybe chicken stock) to deglaze and add some sliced kielbasa at the end.

Yes—put the shrimp in at the end....

That sounds like a great combination. Definitely put the shrimp in last.
I was just thinking that some medium sized cubes of potatoes in that dish would also be nice! Lots of garlic and crushed red pepper.
I think I may cook that.

My mom does this. It’s awesome. I love smothered cabbage.

I would sauté the shrimp in the bacon set those aside while you combine the rest of the ingredients.

Came out very good. Will do again.
