The Yellow Bowl between Jeanerette and Charenton. Crawfish 1/2 and 1/2 also the crab dinner (with the soft shell crab when they have it). You might even see TK Hulin cleaning tables.

Rocky & Carlos is definitely open now in Chalmette...get the baked macaroni!!
A restaurant from the Parish also relocated to Covington/Mandeville area...'Ntinis...great hamburgers and very good steaks
There is a restaurant on the Northshore called DiChristina's...which the owner used to work at Rocky & Carlos (I think) and has very good food

I don't know the name of it or exactly where it is, but someone may know....A few years ago on my way back to Baton Rouge from the Strawberry Festival in Ponchatoula, I stopped at a bakery/pastry place. It may have had "Bavarian" (not surprising) in its name, but I really don't remember. It was excellent. And I mean truly excellent...some of the restaurants recommended here people have sentimental attachment to, but the food is mediocre at best.

Yes, the owner(s) of DiCristina's used to work at Rocky's, and a couple of the worker's on the kitchen staff used to be the owners of Rocky's. (Kind of confusing). The food is pretty much the same: speg and meatballs, veal and chicken parmasean, stuffed bell pepper, poboys, muffalattas, seafood, fried chicken, steaks and salad (the famous wop salad), and of course the famous baked mac. Its a little bit smaller than Rocky's, but a little bit nicer, and they have a nice wine selection.

One of the best restaurants in the state of Louisiana , perhaps the south is located in a very small town. So I guess by definition, it should be included in this list, but because it is such a totally awesome restaurant, it does not deserve to be listed with the likes of the best fried chicken, the best hamburger or best seafood buffet restaurant.
Mr Lester's Steakhouse is locate in Cypress Bayou Casino in Baldwin , Louisiana.
Lester's is one of the finest fine dining restaurants you will ever have the privilege to dine. From the quality of the steaks, seafood and sides to the high standards of service to the desert menu and wine list and cigar list, this restaurant would be serious competition in New York or any other metro place, much less Louisiana.
The prices are high, but kept to a reasonable level by vertue of the casino support and desire that high rollers come to eat and then play.
I bring friends from around the country to Lester's all the time and they are blown away at the quality of the food, service and atmosphere.
So maby you should start a list of the truely great restaruants of Louisiana and put Mr. Lester's at the top of the list.

Charlie's in Springfield, not far from the Tickfaw.
At there this weekend. I will put their oyster platter up against anything that i have had in New Orleans or Baton Rouge. I don't know of a place that can beat in terms of freshness, nice batter, not overcooked at all, and VALUE. i got close to 20 oysters, hush puppies, and fries for $14.95.
