The perfect Taproom

What do you look for in a taproom, and what taproom comes closest to meeting your idea of perfect?
What are the top 3 priorities for you?
* Atmosphere
* Tap list (quality/quantity)
* Bottle selection
* Prices
* Food
* Crowd
* Location
* Service
* Something else?
I think tap list, atmosphere, prices, and service are the most important features for me, in that order.
Given that, the quality of the tap list can change and on any given day, can be better at one place vs another, and 20-30 is the ideal number for me.
Most taprooms that I know of that don't serve food, allow you to bring in outside food and have local restaurants ready to deliver it to you at the taproom. More often than not, I don't eat when I'm having one or two pints.
If I had my druthers, I would quit my job and open up a taproom. Probably not in Portland, because the competition is too stiff...

Those are the most important to me. Stone Brewery's Taproom in Escondido is perfection to me.

Rotating taps
I like when you can buy in different sizes (4oz, 8oz, 16oz)
Allows growler fills
Organized menu with beer by type

Isn't this thread about taprooms?

That site is the main brewery, but it has a taproom attached. I just wanted to clarify because Stone has 2-3 taprooms spread out across San Diego, but this is the site of the actual brewery as well.

Amazing place. And unlike one of my other favorites nearby, Ballast Point in Little Italy, Stone rotates a series of beers from other breweries through their taps, something I find impressive.

Tap List - variety
Location - near where im sleepin
Price - as long as its not rediculous
For me.
Crowd -i prefer smaller
Service -i deal w/ assholes daily
Atmosphere- nice, but not a deal breaker
Food- id prefer to eat at a restaurant
Bottles- a plus, but not mandatory

* Location

Location - If I have to drive way out of my way, then I'm probably not gonna go unless I happen to be in that area.
Tap list/bottle selection - Grouping these together since they both have to do with the selection available. They have to have interesting beers and ideally the selections should change pretty often for more variety.
Service - Mainly what I need are recommendations from the staff. If I say I like Coonass Brewing's Nutria Spit, I want them to offer some suggestions of other beers I might like. The service at Falling Rock (one of the best taprooms anywhere) is comically slow but I still go back because the beer selection is excellent and it's in a great location.
Other stuff
Atmosphere - important but not that important. If it fits in with the overall atmosphere, some TVs hanging on the walls would be good.
Food - if there's a food truck nearby that's good enough.
Crowd - as long as there isn't one, I'm good.
Prices - just don't be out of line with other similar taprooms/breweries/brewpubs. But I'm willing to pay a little more if the selection is really good.

Is a taproom just a beer bar?

Pretty much but a lot of them have full bars including mixed drinks.

Thanks. I realize my post could have seemed obnoxious, but it wasn't intended that way.

I would consider that more of a brewpub, but I'll allow it. I generally don't go to breweries, because independent taprooms have better selection, normally.

Something I admire in the craft beer community. They help each other out.

There are not very many super nice taprooms in Portland, as most are industrial chic - concrete floors and industrial metal lighting. Some of the breweries are really nice, but I still appreciate the minimalist decor of the taprooms - as long as they don't get too crowded.
Some places that have full-service bars and kitchens and 100 beers on tap are not really taprooms in my mind. In order to be a taproom, your main draw should be beer, and you should get the limited release stuff and always have something on tap that cannot be found in every other bar in the city.
