My situation allows me to cook daily so I do. When I was working till 5:30-6 every night my wife cooked. It's pretty much whoever gets home first starts cooking. If we have a family get together the men cook, the women bake and cleanup after us.

This is so true . All of my friends are in their lower to mid forties and none of the females cook . I know men like to cook but a man appreciates a good meal cooked for him from time to time. Why do todays younger females have no desire to cook?

They don't know how. Older generations had mothers that learned from their mothers. You can add gardening, sewing, and quilting to the list. The two income lifestyle ruined those things.
Some of my best memories involve good food with family. I cook because it makes people happy, myself included.

Not always true. My daughter in law is from a Polish family. Her parents are immigrants. She’s 30...and a wonderful cook. It’s a cultural thing....the Polish ladies I’ve met through family connections all seem to be excellent cooks.

I do pretty much all the cooking in our house. My wife does the baking/desserts. She also usually assembles the salad, if we're having one.

I usually cook the main dish and my wife cooks the sides. She has a few meals that she does all on her own, and I have a few meals I do all on my own. That's if we're both home and available to cook; sometimes we have to vary from that when one of us is working late or taking the kids somewhere.

Well my daughter is a great cook currently working on sourdough bread (as am I) and kimchi (as I’m not) and she gardens, cuts her own grass, she took several sewing classes when she was young and while not doing much of it she can and a few of her friends can do all that as well.
Now quilting died with my grandmother but I’m lucky enough to have about a half dozen of her quilts made during the depression in great shape.
And Walt do we have a monopoly on sexually transmitted diseases in Louisiana? That was kind of a random item to add.
My father always said “if your mother ever leaves we won’t starve.” He was a great cook as well.
