I wouldn't get too hung up on the "scene" if y'all are having some sort of private style get together with a bunch of folks that just happens to be taking place at this particular bar.

I promise you, there's no way you'll find the place that offputting.

if she wants to go there she obviously likes the place. i would stick with the Bridge Lounge. It's not an awful place at all, and you could certainly do worse.
