Any reviews on the place?

it’s a creole cuisine concepts location. I haven’t been there but I’ve been to others. If you like Houston’s you’ll like this.
Always edible, sometimes very good, never anything you can’t get elsewhere

Crab cakes are money. Also a big fan of the bbq shrimp app. I’ve heard others swear by the Hawaiian rib eye, never had it myself.

They have one in Metairie
It’s the old Houston’s
Pretty similar menu

It's above average food that has its place in the market. I haven't been in a while, but I enjoyed it for what it was when I did go. This is for the Metairie location, but it will be the same.
My issue is that there are too many other places that are much better to go to, so I don't ever really see myself going back there.

It's decent - not great. The smoked salmon app is pretty good. Cuban is pretty good. Crab cakes are good. My friend ordered the Hawaiian ribeye and I had a bite of it. It wasn't bad but I remember thinking it wasn't worth the price.
It's the kind of place where the honest review is "it's not terrible." It's not in our rotation of places to regularly eat.
ETA: pretty much this:
There are too many places in Covington with better food at a similar price point to justify going there often.

If its the same as the ones in Metairie and Elmwood, the tempura chicken tenders are a ridiculously good appetizer.

I agree. I was just trying to not be overly negative

Creole Cuisine gets a bad rap, but their operations are clean, food is good and service is friendly. They know how to cater to their market - their FQ concepts are different than their suburban locations like Blvd. You can see the difference in operations if you compare them to a shite place like Half Shell that’s just across the street in Cov. I’ve never been to the Covington one but ride by it and it’s always packed

Like others have said, its good, not great.
Never had a bad experience there.
The bar is a very nice setting, the wife and I will go there a little early on a Saturday evening for a drink and eat at the bar. I usually get the Porkchops or Ribs and have never been disappointed.

Food is always decent. They kind of pissed me off a while back though. Tried to get reservations at the bar. Had a group of 10 going. Girl said they could only take a reservation for 6 and under in the bar. No problem right? Just reserve me a 4 top and a 6 top next to each other (common sense one would think) She wouldn't do it. I took that to mean they didn't need my business and took my party of 10 to another place. Really haven't been back since. Maybe I'm just petty, but I'm the type of person that always tries to find a way to say yes.

I don't know how the Half Shell stay in business.
I think I'll "The Boulevard" Wednesday evening, just to know ...
