Oh excuse me for not having a potato chip from the hawk's nest. In all my epicurean travels around the world to the finer restaurants to experience a potato chip, I must have missed this place. So please, tell me this locale, b/c I'd hate to go the rest of my life without savoring a great potato chip.

He's not joking.

Two other places as well...The original Chris' on Broad always had homemade potato chips off the menu and believe it or not they served them with ketchup. Only Chris' I knew of that had this.

Byronz on Govt. Street has homemade chips with blue cheese. Best thing they have.

I see a new potato chip out at the store " Dirty Chips"

What a coincidence. I bought a bag of Dirty Chips...Mesquite flavored about a month ago from the Sunshine Health Food Hippie Center. They were great. Better than Zapps. I went back a week later and they were out.
I asked the old lady hippie "When will you get more?" She gave me a slip to fill out. I put my name and phone number on it. They called a week later saying that they just got a shipment in. I walked in and found them in a large cardboard box next to the chip counter. The box must have had 50 bags of Mesquite Dirty Chips that had not been put on the shelf.
I got two bags and checked out.
A week later I went by and there were none. I asked the hippie lady "You had something like 50 bags of this stuff last week...did you sell out?"
Her: "I don't know. I have no idea what you're talking about."
Bottom line...they haven't had the chips since but they're really pushing the kelp and sea weed chips.

as well you should...off sherwood forest there lies a little restaurant called The hawk's Nest...owned by one...Big Head...where the chips are made fresh and served hot...and anyone who has been there will tell you...man, those are great

The Village Deli in Baytown had the same thing. Talk about the best potatoe chip! I was looking forward to eating them again and the when we got there, we found out that the deli is closed and they replaced it with some stupid 50's hamburger joint.
