I used to enjoy Mandina's for the nostalgia, since I grew up going there frequently. One of my best childhood friends is well connected politically, if on one of my NO trips we happen to lunch at Mandina's, one of the Landrieus's always seems comes to the table and ruin the mediocre food.

Well apparently numerous others - both here and on other boards - disagree w/ your assessment. No offense, but based on your preferences you don't come across as much as a food expert. But hey man, enjoy your Mosca's and New Orleans bbq -- and Flemings.

I never said that anyone's list was "bad." To each his own. I just find it hypocritical that he ridiculed my list, which others have agreed is solid, but yet I can't say anything about his?

Don’t argue logic with a retard, son. That’s like reverse full retard, which is a no no.

So you love sal and judy’s but are critical of Mosca’s and Mandina’s?

I find both to be average places, or maybe slightly above average, whose admirers have a lot of fond memories of.

Sal and Judy’s
Mosca’s

Pascal Manale’s
Vincent’s

Old school Italian restaurants in New Orleans are funny. Some people swear their allegiance to one and hate on the rest while theyre all putting out oversized portions are pasta, sauces and proteins drowned in butter and garlic

Sorry Mr. Mosca. Yes, I've only eaten there twice. Why would I continue to go back to a place I find to be mediocre

Correct. I think S&J is the best Italian in the state.

A better question is why do you continue to go out of your way to let everyone know how terrible moscas was the 2x you ate there 15 years ago

I’ll just say that about 15 years ago my gf & I went to New Orleans to visit a friend for the weekend, and had no clue where he was taking us to eat. Friday night we went to Mosca’s. The next night we went to Sal and Judy’s. It was like comparing a high school football player to an all-pro. Not only that, S&J was cheaper. Went back to Mosca’s a few years ago to try it again - the crab salad, the oysters, the chicken, and all the other hyped “must-haves” I was told - and once again, it was merely OK.
