culturally appropriating delicious ethnic dishes like Korean BBQ chicken, tacos al pastor, and speghetti and meatballs, but no one outside of Louisiana knows how to f&%king google how to make a passable gumbo

You ever been to Korea and tried their bbq chicken? In fact is bbq chicken even a thing they do? Seems any time I have korean it's usually bbq pork or beef. I'm sure a Korean would think the bbq chicken you eat at someone's house in louisiana is not an exact replica of their cuisine. It might taste "good" to you in the same way people in ohio think a jambalaya soup tastes good.

I would agree with this for most people in the south, but yankees for the most part just cant cook or just dont give a damn enough to take the time and love to do it right. Ohio is the worst, they cant cook simple stuff like beans or a country fried steak. Hell you can get better food out of gas stations in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana than most restaurants serve up north.

I generally try not to offend children and people with limited mental capabilities, but, if I may express myself with complete and open, candid honesty, you just may be one of the dumbest pieces of shite that I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Perhaps that assessment will change with time, but damn, son, you really are stupid.

Boy I am not talking 5 stars here and neither is the op. You wanna bust my arse on the gas staion part thats fine, but if you intend to argue that most restaurants up north are on par with most normal restaurants down south you are the stupid.

Now frick off and go put your cinnamon in your chilli

Sorry left the normal off the northern. You know, local places, mom and pops, a place that isnt a chain.

You got the damn cinnamon though.

In my experience, I generally find there to be more mom and pop places in many areas up North than down South. While fast food culture has infested most of the country, I think it is slightly more prevalent down South. Certainly, obesity is more prevalent down South.

ETA: I absolutely have no clue what you're talking about in respect of the cinnamon comment.

Therefore, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that, in general, "normal" restaurants (whatever that may mean) are slightly better up North than down South. It's certainly arguable either way. What I know for a fact is that the South (as far as "normal" restaurants are concerned) is not heads and shoulders better.

I will be reasonable and give you the benefit of the doubt on this, simply because I dont travel as much as I used too. From 89- 2012 I traveled everywhere. Im not talking a night here night there but weeks in towns all over the northeast and midwest. Things may have changed since then. But in my opinion the food was almost always underseasoned and nothing more than slop.

They put fricking cinnamon in their chili in Ohio, and its fricking nasty.

You cant blame this on fast food alone, you have to take in the fact that southern meals provided huge calories for hours of labor in the field. I guess you think gumbo and jambalaya is a health food. Smh
