Love the food, but service is so bad there I have officially boycotted the place... I guess the owner is too cheap to have her place properly staffed... I guess she is too cheap to have the proper amount of cash registers in the place... which is really a shame because they have a unique product and are ALWAYS busy...

if you place a to-go order, you actually have to wait in the long line of people waiting to order to eat in just to pay/pickup ? I've never seen this... i guess with all that business she can't afford to take orders at the tables...or a 2nd cash register

...called today and immediately asked if I would hold....sure... i sat on hold while I listened to 2 orders being taken....then, they finally picked up and took my order, i asked if I could go ahead and pay with my CC over the phone so I could just pickup(which I had done before), I was denied with a care-free attitude from the owner herself... I requested my order be cancelled...

I had the same experience with two different coffee places up here. The problem was affirmative action. Govt small business loans to minorities and women. Two white women took advantage of the loans to start coffee shops...one in Shreveport and one in Bossier, even though they had no business experience.

Both businesses failed. Service was horrible. Product was horrible. Not sure if your case is the same cause but when you mentioned 'she' I thought of it.

I love the Coffee Bean, but I can see your point about the service...What makes it worse, is if there's a line and someone in front of you orders one of those specialty coffees, you're really screwed.

I don't normally go there during the peak times. I've been going there for years, and the owner does seem to be a little overstressed even when the place is only semi-busy.

They've got a nice new place, so they must've been doing okay in that other spot to be able to move...I know they've got a great lunch biz, but I'm not sure about breakfast & dinner.

I do breakfast there about every other week or so and I've never had any problems. ALways thought it was a nice hidden gem.

Never had lunch. Other than service how's the lunch menu?

I like the CB too, but I can certainly agree with the criticism. That seems to be an issue with coffee places, is there a law against 2 cash registers??? I usually just want a coffee and I have to wait behind some dingleberry picking up double moucha frappachino's for the whole hair salon. So I just go to McD or Circle K.

Express line for for people who like coffee and not dessert in a cup?

It bums me out that the Coffee Bean in Lafayette closed a few years back. Apparently, Lafayette needed 16 CC's coffees on every damn street corner, and we couldn't do with one DIFFERENT coffee placed that also served decent sandwiches, fountain drinks and damn good beignets!

I've always said that the Bean has the best chicken salad in town. It's a little chunky, not like that pureed stuff you get at other places. All the food there is tasty. Zilla is nuckin futz for giving them the perma-ban.

I get their menu faxed to me daily from Coursey. Never had anything bad from there, though some things are better than others.

I understand some of your frustration, although i have never been there it appears they could do a better job of staffing but:

quote:

called today and immediately asked if I would hold....sure... i sat on hold while I listened to 2 orders being taken

I hate it when I stand in line at a place and wait my turn and right before I order the phone rings and someone places an order before me that did not have to stand in line

quote:

asked if I could go ahead and pay with my CC over the phone so I could just pickup(which I had done before), I was denied

do you realize that by taking a cc over the phone the fee the merchant pays to the processing company goes up?
