That will be my contribution for the new years eve party. Easy as sin and very good. Combined with a night of drinking will surely bring the shits. No matter though.
What's on your new years eve party menu?

Sure, no problem...
Tamale Balls
Ingredients
1 pound ground round or chuck
1 1/2 cups corn meal
1/2 cup flour
2 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 pound lean hot pork sausage (hot breakfast sausage will work as will hot Italian sausage-minus the casings)
3/4 cup V-8 juice
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper (more or less depending upon how hot you like them)
(Mix above ingredients together - see directions below)
THEN:
7-8 cups V-8 juice
3 teaspoons cumin
3 teaspoons chili powder
3 teaspoons salt
(Mix above ingredients - see directions below)
Directions
Mix the first 10 ingredients above (listed through cayenne pepper) thoroughly. Roll into balls of desired size and place into pot.
Mix the second set (last 4 above) ingredients together, then pour over the tamale balls in the pot and cook over medium heat for 1 hour. Rearrange often so tamale balls don’t stick and burn on the bottom of the pot during cooking.
Yields: 7 dozen

Covered or uncovered on the stove?

Uncovered. Just make sure they don't stick and burn on the bottom of the pot.

I just went pick up the ingredients. I am cooking these bad boys tonight. Gonna substitute some home made sausage my brother made for me

I substitute Chorizo from Winn Dixie for the HOt sausage and I use a couple of cans of the hot V-8 juice in the gravy.
