We did a trip to Avery Island in the middle of winter.
Fun drive and the place is beautiful.
BUT.
Just 'cause it's winter doesn't mean that the bug population has been reduced by freezes. We learned where the mosquitoes go for their winter vacations and we didn't have bug spray, darn it.
