I gotta know, given your expertise in this area, what is your favorite item from the video?

muffuletta at Central Grocery
seafood mirliton casserole at K-Paul’s
Wouldn't catch me dead with a hurricane from Pat O'Brien's. Way better at Lafitte's.

was at 30a one year with 20+ people (yeah i know i know..) and my aunt passed and so the kids and i got up early and drove to the funeral in gretna. i had a friend pick up a dozen muffulettas from central and after the funeral we basically did a drive-by (grabbing the bag from him like a cyclist in the tour de france) and brought those suckers back to florida in time for dinner for the entire group.
best meal of the week and nobody i was with in florida even knew what a proper muffuletta was so i was like a God after that.

Legit food story right there. I love introducing out of state folks to our food. Watching them realize they have been wasting their lives eating tasteless crap is satisfying.

Very well done.
Could call them out on Parasol's, but the effort was there.

How did they get that final camera angle at Commander's?

It's moving around a bit like a drone would. Same thing for the intro shot.

Catching hate on the Food and Drink Board because I love food and drink. Go figure.
Or it may be one of my downvote stalkers from the OT sneaking over here.

Curious too as to what the final tab was, and how many days that took to shoot.
ETA: I played back the vid and counted 52 food shots. Considering the price range of the dishes is probably $8-$40, I would guess the average food item would be approaching $20-25 after tax/tip. (oh wait...they're Europeans...did they tip?) $20x52=$1,040-$1,300 on food alone. Realistically, I could see about 8 food shots per day (cooking time, getting the camera angle set), stretching the hotel out to over a week. Maybe they rented a car, or perhaps paid for Uber. I'm not going to factor in airfare because I'm sure they did other things while they were here, but man, that vid had to have cost almost $5,000 and a LOT of time to produce. I am extremely jealous.

can't believe a local didn't do it first

Because locals know homer was just reading the jazz fest 2017 food menu.
The backgrounds were added after the jazzfest story was scrapped.

I would think 8 a Day is ambitious unless they had a pretty big crew traveling with them to arrive ahead of the on-camera people and prep the shot. No way the two of the them did eight a day on their own.

I agree with you. I was being generous.
