I'm smoking a pork shoulder and I unfortunately I don't have time to make a rub, what's the best store bought rub out there?

Many like bad byron's. Remember to cut it with turbinado sugar.

Making a rub takes like 2 minutes.......all you need is salt, pepper, garlic P, onion P and paprika...........maybe a little brown sugar sprinkled on when it's hits the smoker.

Dizzy pig dizzy dust
Get the coarse
I find bb too salty so adding sugar probably would help

The best I ever had was one out of Alabama called "Rub a Butt". I haven't been able to find it again, which is sad.
The best I've been able to find consistently is Cajun Power's BBQ rub.

My rub is three steps:
1. coat in honey mustard
2. apply rub of garlic powder, Cajun Power BBQ rub, black pepper, white pepper
3. coat in brown sugar
The brown sugar basically crystallizes to form a delicious bark and traps moisture inside the meat, driving all of that rub inside.

Don't buy store bought. Seriously. Google Chris Lilly's rub recipe. It's a 7 time world championship recipe.

I don't think I've ever used store-bought rub.
Here's the Chris Lilly recipe. It makes enough for at least two big butts. I buy the spices in bulk at Sam's and keep them on hand.
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup paprika
1/3 cup garlic salt
1/3 cup kosher salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon oregano leaves
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon black pepper
