Stone-ground Yellow Grits

We haven't been able to find any in grocery stores in North Dallas so I ordered some from Amazon.
I cooked some this morning. It was much more tasty than the quick grits you get at supermarkets, the only drawback was the 40 minute cooking time.
My SO is not a fan of grits (being from Oklahoma), but she enjoyed these that I had amended with jalapenos, cheese and butter.
Anyone exert the effort to cook real grits?

Just had a bowl of grits myself
I’ve never taken the extra effort. They are hard to find in Oregon and the only one I’ve found was quick - may order some from amazon like you did though

No self-respecting southerner uses instant grits

Use half milk and half water when cooking them. Really makes them creamy.

Butter, heavy cream and smoked Gouda cheese. Touch of salt and black pepper. Delicious with a bacon, portobello mushroom and spinach cream gravy with shrimp.

I use whole milk instead of water when I cook them.

+1
I buy mine from the lady at the Farmer's Market. Real grits are much better tasting than Quick Grits. Just gotta put in the time to cook them right.

Not yellow. Not stone-ground. Is organic (I don't pay extra for organic stuff). Thanks just the same.
