It’s socialism. Not so subtle criticism for catering to people who can afford it and using price point to keep out lower class of people. The shamers want it to be a restaurant for all,

Certain things are worth paying for, at least on occasion. My wife and I ate at Hall's Chophouse in Columbia, SC last Sunday with friends. My tomahawk alone was $100 and worth every penny IMO for an experience with friends in an awesome environment with great food and professional wait staff. My wife had no issues hitting $100+ bucks either.
Bottom line: it is a private business that is setting a purchase minimum to attract their desired clientele and establish a higher end atmosphere, which no one should have an issue with. If you don't like it, don't go. Grab a steak from the butcher and grill it at home or head to Texas Roadhouse and throw peanut shells in the floor.

$100 minimum is very easy to hit at a steakhouse. A steak is $45, 2 old fashions is $25, bowl of soup another $15, side is $5, and dessert is $10. That's $100 right there, and that's being on the low side of estimates.
I personally don't like steakhouses for this exact reason. That $100 can get you an epic meal at a place that has more inspired and/or unique food than a piece of grilled meat.

I just added up a typical order. That my usual date and I would order and I was at $178 without drinks and we always get a bottle of wine. $200 shouldn't be an issue. I wonder if this applies to lunch also?
