Did he personalize it to you?

I received an email from him because I emailed a group of people notifying them of the article in the Alabama newspaper.

Looks like he sent it to everyone in his address book. It didn't say dear golfer if that's what you are asking.

He sent it from his iPhone to me. I think it was because I emailed a large number of people.

Well its one of two things:

1. The owner is lying.
2. The FDA went a little over zealous with their report.

I wouldn't think the FDA would make up allegations.

='s, We need some time to try and somehow put a better spin on this mess.

Unless they can prove that the FDA is lying, than I'm thinkin' disgruntled worker/workers might be about their only recourse.

ETA: Just read where the sandwich folks have responded, and it looks like they're are reluctantly admitting to the FDA findings and have hired the services of Greg Beuerman who specializes in crisis communications and reputation management.

Earlier in the day, however, FDA spokeswoman Stephanie Kwisnek responded to a statement from Southern Belle’s parent company by saying the FDA stands by its contention that the $72,000 worth of tuna sandwiches and other product had been prepared, packed and held in unsanitary conditions where they “may have become contaminated with filth.”

quote:

She pointed to the administration’s Friday announcement that “inspections found evidence of widespread and active rodent and insect infestation, filthy conditions, and poor employee practices, such as allowing food-processing utensils to lie on the floor near live insects.”

quote:

The FDA said it has not received any reports of illnesses from anyone who has eaten the tuna sandwiches, but urges consumers who bought them to dispose of them.

The owner told me to wait and hold off judgment until all the facts came out and I may be accused of something untrue.

This statement doesn't sound like they are denying any wrongdoing.

quote:

“It is what it is,” he said of the findings. “The FDA’s judgment on these things has to be respected, and not only did we respect it, we came into complete and utter compliance.”

The fact that they've been cited in the past, and now this, doesn't bode well for them...The sandwich company is probably going to have a very difficult job finding people to buy & sell their products after these disgusting findings, I would imagine.

You'd think that sanitary conditions would be the top priority for a biz like this...I'm guessing that the name Southern Belle on the sandwiches will be renamed in the near future.

So far, there have been no reports of illnesses linked to Bearden Sandwich products, the FDA said. Still, the agency is advising consumers who bought the products to throw them in the trash and not eat them. Also, consumers should thoroughly wash their hands with warm, soapy water after handling the foods to avoid the risks of bacterial contamination.

Damn, that's not too many steps away from what you have to do with one of those broken CFL light bulbs.
