On the way to work today, I noticed a South of Philly sign in the shopping center behind Rotolos. Does anybody know when they are supposed to open?

I've been once. They will get no more of my money than that.

*I'll describe my experience - I ordered a Pepper steak combo w/ fries to go. The steak was flavorless, they forgot to put cheese on it, and there were 2 small pieces of chopped bell pepper on it (had to dig to find them). The fries came in a small paper bag which looked like it had been sitting out in a rainstorm it was so wet from grease. Inside, the fries were cold and unsalted.

The bread was pretty good, but that's it. $11 for a decent piece of bread and a fountain drink.

No thanks.

I had two friends from Philadelphia who enjoyed philly me up and hated south of philly. Philly me up is the closest thing to pat's i've had south of philly.

And I think they put that damn farmers name on the wall where they get their potatos from. Makes it kinda creepy.

So naturally they suck.

That's a bit odd - I got mine from the drive thru, so didn't notice. And I definitely wasn't driving back there to claim the forgotten cheese. But lack of cheese kind of ruins a cheese steak for me. Call me crazy...

I've never had a bad experience at SoP. Very good, I've been 10+ times..always very good. A little pricey, but good.

A couple of people I know from Philly told me South of Philly was close to Pat's. They thoroughly enjoyed it. I've only eaten there 2-3 times(a while back) and those few times it was pretty good, definitely nothing to complain about.

I'll go pick up a Tiger steak with whiz and onions this Thursday before the LSU/MSU game.

They were open for Saturday. They did not have chairs for the tables yet, But they did have booth seating.
