I'm thinking about getting a sous vide machine. I don't need the tub or wi-fi but I would like a reliable product. Any recommendations?

I have a joule and like it a lot.

I just use it with a large mixing bowl and gal zip lock bags.

It’s wifi/app enabled. Only draw back is that you have to use the app.

Love my joule. Use it multiple times per week for both cooking and also reheating stuff I’ve vacuum packed.

Anovo from best buy is relatively inexpensive and you will never want to eat a steak that you haven't sous vided again.

love mine!

Had it now for at least 4 years wifi, bluetooth and takes a beating.

Easy use for quick 1-2 hour meals with it as well as >24 hour cooks as well. Never had a problem.

I've had a VpCok for 4 or 5 years now. 60 bucks, works well.

We have Anova.
It has been bulletproof for several years.
Runs for days with accuracy.

Unfamiliar with any other brands, Amazon reviews and just internet reviews were what I used to make decision.

*get some type of vacuum sealer.

We never use the dehydration balls unless we are doing a roast for over 24 hours.

I've had the InkBird for a couple years and it's been great. I know you don't need the wifi, but it's a nice touch to be able to control from the phone and see how much cooking time is left.

Every mention of sous vide. There's some serious ignorance out there.

Anova. I'll be using it for pulled pork and fajitas this weekend. Very accurate and consistent.

When pork butts are on sale i'll buy some and smoke then vacuum pack in a serving that we'll eat for a normal taco night and freeze. On taco night, straight from the freezer into the sous vide when I get home than in an hour and a half cut that puppy open and it's like the day i packed it...

I have both joule and Anova, and I prefer joule. It comes to temp faster, and I like the overall design better.

This is correct, and it can be a major drawback. You can’t use it at all without wifi. Kind of silly and very limiting

If you need to be able to use this without WiFi, then get the Anova. If you’re ok having this restriction, I recommend the joule

I just ordered that one since it was on sale for 57 shipped. Seems like a good deal. I've used some inkbird stuff before and it all seems pretty good
