I think it's a sin to mess up the canned shaped of the cranberry sauce before serving time. It's "traditional" for it to maintain the canned shape. It's part of the charm. I always put out canned as well as my homemade. I wouldn't have it any other way and if the canned one doesn't come out of the can perfectly, I have a spare that will.

Holiday foods are some of my favorites and I come from a family of good cooks, so I look forward to the holidays- a little too much. Usually end up eating too much.

Same. I love to cook, but on Thanksgiving, I can relax. They're been making the traditional foods for years and do it well.

At the MILs, she always has to bake the turkey. I have offered to fry one for her, can't get her to go for it.

Tell them instead of dry aged rib roast, you'll bring beef jerkey next year instead because it's probably more their speed.

Sorry but my brother in law, an engineer at Dow, would need a manual and a minimum of two hours on the phone to tech support to even light a grill. My sister goes all out for family gatherings and whips together a green salad with some nasty homemade dressing and day old garlic bread. If my wife and I don't do the bulk of the cooking no one eats.

Wow, my family has this issue ... me and Mr. Mulva can cook, but when we go to my in-laws, break out the canned sweet potatoes and the awful green beans from a can with that crunchy onion stuff on it. And I don't know what's going on with their macaroni. It's a shame because I love the in-laws, they just can't cook. At least there's lots of alcohol.

When my mom cooks, I like everything. When my mom's brother's family cooks, I like about half. This year it's my mom's cooking and it's going to be excellent.

Our extended family holiday dinners are always at Bro's house. The food is good except for one thing...EVERYTHING HAS CHEESE ON IT. My wife won't go anymore. One time the only thing she could eat was a piece of turkey and a buttered bun.

Typical menu...

Salad with grated cheese
Broccoli cheese casserole
String beans with cheese
Cheesy mashed potatoes.
