Both suck miserably IMHO. Shaver's taste like they don't wash them and it'll take you an hour to wash the gradeau off your hands after eating either Shaver's or Shane's crawfish. Try Crawfish Thyme or Kim's.

Crawfish Hole II in Minden kills all of the above for Crawfish and atmosphere IMO. 30 minutes on I-20 to Dixie Inn exit. Worth the drive.

Forgot about that place. I've never been, but I've heard alot of good things about it.

I've never gotten bad crawfish from Shaver's. I generally get crawfish cooked by them once a year. The gradeau is a little bad, but no worse than normal.

Second Crawfish Hole #2. Best crawfish by far in the area. For takeout crawfish, Shaver's is ok, but Crawfish Tyme is better. Kim's in Bossier also has very good crawfish. I think Kim's only sells "selects."

I agree with East Ridge... So here is the breakdown

Shreveport= Crawfish Tyme (with mushrooms, which they are sometimes out of)
Bossier= Kim's
Surrounding areas= Crawfish hole #2 in Minden

I loved Dominic's Italian Restauran:
1409 East 70th Street #129
Shreveport, LA 71105
(318) 797-2782

There you go. It's really good food and has that "old world" feeling. So good even Italian Catholic Priest love to hang there. At least mine did when I attended St. John's.

FYI, Dominick's has been closed for a couple of years now. He's retired.

I kept hearing that Zydeco's on the corner of Bert Kouns and Youree had really good crawfish, but I never could get by there when I was in S'port. Someone said they were on a long term catering job out of the country and may not be open this year.

The piano bar at Ernest's can be fun, but make sure you check the prices first. They been known to gouge when they get a chance. A buddy of mine's wife ordered the "special" once and it cost $58.00.

Dominick's at it's best was not half as good as L'Italiano's in Bossier.

Just kidding, but didn't it go out of business like 6 years ago?

Yeah, it's been a while, and Dominic was an a-hole anyway.

I've heard they're good, but I'd boil my own before I drove to Webster parish for anything. What a shithole.

Yep. And I saw Dominic walking into a restaurant with his wife last week as we were walking out.
Except he wasn't actually 'walking'. He's gotten so fat and weak that he uses a 'stroller.'

Don't know if they really gouge. Any special at a nice place is going to be around $60.

That club room is ok, but its real 70's loungy feeling.

Maybe so, he just wasn't really expecting it since most of the entrees aren't over $30.00 and there wasn't much to it. His fault for not asking the price though.

You're right, I don't think they've updated the decor in the lounge since 1973.
