I get Ribeyes or Filets from Sam's and I rarely hear complaints about them. But-people that bitch about a free steak dinner are not getting invited back for another one.

I had some beautiful steaks one night.. Invited my inlaws over and went to put them on the grill and asked how they liked them cook. MIL = Well Done, BIL = Well Done, SIL = Well Done, FIL = Med Rare, Wife Med Rare.

I was pissed. At least my wife got her preference from her dad.

WTF, I would have cooked em ALL medium rare. Sometimes you gotta do whats best for people when they don't know whats best for themselves.

Prolly wanted Heinze 57 steak sauce too

If you buy a whole loin, rack, whatever and have sams cut it, they probably are gonna clean it up. In other words, trim it. There's more to cuttin up steaks than measuring how thick and slicing. I always roll my own, I mean cut my own, but hay, I used to own a steakhouse. The strip you bought might not have been trimmed properly. Just sayin.

If you buy a whole tenderloin, give it a shot to cut it up yourself. You get a nice small roast and the chain (good for cheesesteaks).

Here is a link to an episode Alton Brown had on cutting up a whole tenderloin. You can click part 2 on the right.
