I bet it would be good with a lighter wood smoke like apple or pecan. It's got to be better than that Vietnamese abomination with all that oil and butter.

Seems like this would be akin to some coonass saying "Hey, guys. I'm going to cook this 15 pound Prime brisket by boiling it in crawfish seasoning!"

On the Beverly Hillbillies, Granny told some park rangers she was going down to the lake to smoke some crawdads, but first she needed a little pot.
As I recall, there were also some hippies involved who got excited about smoking crawdads.

You'd be surprised how good that comes out! Boil then smoke it for a while.

I do them all the time.....
Parboil for 17 seconds to kill them, smoke them for 30 minutes at 225. Then I put them in an ice chest, squirt them with butter, horseradish and yellow mustard, season them with some spicy Punch Ya Daddy and enjoy. Key is to not put to much mustard.
