Small chickens---where to get them?

Over the last few years it seems all the 3.5-4 lb fryers are being used by the grocery stores for their rotisserie.
The big 5+ pounders they are selling now for fryers have breast that are just too big for frying or smoking IMHO.
Do you know any stores that sell the smaller birds in the meat case?

Assuming BTR, I've had good luck at Hi Neighbor. Bough Organic Free Range chickens for $.99 a lb the other day. all right around 3.5-4 lbs I think.

Thanks I will try that.
I don't care if they are organic but will buy organic for the smaller bird.

There are two sources of meat/poultry where I think organic taste better.
Pork and chicken. Especially chicken. I love those smaller organic birds.
Beef? Well give me that fatty, hormonie cow over that organic grass fed shite any day of the week.

Whole Foods has some that are a little smaller. They cost more, but they are good. Air chilled instead of water logged, so they don't feel like a water balloon.
We bought 3.25 to 3.5 lb. chickens at Piggly Wiggly back when I was contest-cooking chickens as a kid in 4-H. I rarely see one at Kroger that is under 5 lbs these days.

Those so call fryers that are 5+ might as well be hens.

Organic chickens are much smaller but a lot more expensive.

There's a tariff on chickens less than 4 pounds; that's why there's a shortage.

Maxwells in BR
Juniors meat market in French settlement, both are fresh never frozen and average about 3 pounds each, they smoke up real well
