Some good old Hawk’s Nest shrimp remoulade would be a perfect supper after a hot day of hurricane cleanup. So sad it’s gone. Where in BR is next best version?

Bighead Smith is gone(Hawks Nest Lobdell and later Southfork), and too Mandina's short lived run in BR..

Both had that smooth white to light pink colored remoulade sauce, not dark and hard biting like say Andre's.

Parrains has a nice sauce, sorta orange and middle tiered in heat/bite, not light but not too over-strengthed.

I too liked that lighter flavored remoulade on the humid sweltering days, paired with a light lager.

Rouj Creole is good. And Phil’s.

Ruth’s doesn’t specifically have it but the remoulade sauce they give you with the shrimp cocktail is so good.

Hell, I’ll whip you up a big batch if you wanna just pick up here

Thanks for the offer. A great sauce is the key. But the small, well-seasoned shrimp at Hawk’s Nest helped make it extra special.

You may be the only person in town lamenting the passing of the Hawk’s Nest.

I know that’s not true. There are at least a half dozen guys that had to find a new bar stool to call their own.

That’s a fair statement, but it was a great place to hangout. Used to love going after the gf had an early game at Mango’s
