So I have done shrimp boils before and do them just like crawfish sans the cook time, but it's been so long that I cannot remember how long I boil them...what's the right cook and soak time for shrimp?

Getting about 60 lbs from Grand Isle this weekend.

How big are the shrimp going to be and how big are the batches?

When I do boiled shrimp in the 16 to 25 range, I drop them in a rolling boil and cut the heat immediately. I also start cooling down the pot right away

I figured I would make it easy on myself and try to do a single boil (100 qt pot)

I'm told 10-15 count but haven't seen them yet.

3x the amount of seasoning of bugs

Toss in a rolling boil

kill burner

start hosing off the pot

Give them a few minutes and eat a sample, should be good to go.

I never boil to a time, I watch for air bubbles between the sheet and meat. When I see one I cut the fire.

Boil them until you can just start to see the pinkish hue on the shrimp.

Cut the fire and drain. They'll finish cooking when you dump them in the ice chest with the seasoning.

Tough to properly boil that much shrimp at once. The water is too hot for too long.

Best shrimp advice I ever got was from a guy who boiled shrimp for a restaurant and catering events.. Use two pots make up the seasoning and lemons and all that stuff in one pot and set it to the side. Boil the shrimp in the other pot in plain water then pull that basket and drop it in the pot with the seasoning to soak.. Shrimp will peel with ease no sticking shriveled up shells
