This has never been brought up before, but this is why I don't buy Sculpin...

I don't get it. Just because it's more expensive?

What is that $6.79 on the top shelf?

He's got a million better options. For less.

I enjoy Sculpin even with all the other options. I don't buy it as often as I used to but I don't think 13.99 for 6 cans is all that bad.

Yes the price. I have never seen it for less that $12.99, and that was in natchitoches Louisiana. Typically it's at or near $14.99. Better local options that save you $2-5. Easy decision.

It's 40% more expensive for comparable options.

I used to regularly mule Sculpin when our local products were shite.
I don't mule hops anymore. I guess if I was in New England I would, but otherwise there's not a lot of reason to. I am very content to drink Envie every day. In fact, I'm drinking one now.

Caldera Lawnmower Lager. Not real good. There are a lot more beers on those shelves and almost all of them are in the 8-10 dollar range. This is at Safeway - Not the cheapest and not the most expensive.

So many option as good or better. I like it but not enough to want to buy it very often.

That's Safeway, so maybe not a million, but there were a lot of good options. Lagunitas and Firestone Walker are in that pic and 4 bucks cheaper.
Many of the local brewers don't can or bottle, or if the do, they are distributed to bottleshops and not Safeway. Grocery stores like Safeway only deal with the largest distributors, so they don't get stuff from some of the local breweries.

That is a little over $2 a can. For some perspective, you probably pay $3-4 for a Miller Lite at a restaurant. $2 for quality beer is a steal.
