Seems highly dubious. I'll check back then and see.

This is why you climate freaks can't be taken seriously by the skeptics. You post catastrophic predictions and they NEVER come true.
Per Ozone Gore, New Orleans is already supposed to be 10 feet under water and all the polar bears should be extinct.

and disregarding the fear mongering headline, it appears even if the worst happens, we already have solutions to the problem

IDK about all that blame it on climate change bs, but it is being consumed faster than it can be grown. In about 10 years I would expect chocolate prices to be really high.

Scientists also predicted a new ice age in the 70's

Not to turn this into a global warming debate, but only a very small minority predicted "global cooling" in the 70s. The majority still predicted global warming.

no, we don't have solutions ... we have ideas for solutions that haven't been proven ... not jumping on the "we're gonna lose our chocolate" bandwagon, but climate change is real, regardless of its cause ...
the amount of dark chocolate people are now eating is also part of the problem ... more dark chocolate requires more beans, both in percentage and raw numbers ...

Well, I'm confident in our ability to adapt and solve the problem before full on extinction. I'd say the fact that we are already trying to solve the issue is a good sign.

sure, but we seem to think it's always best to wait for necessity ... that eventually fails ...

Extinct by 2050, already working on solutions in 2017-2018. That's not waiting for necessity. It's identifying a problem 30 years away and trying to solve it now.

There is more research grant money available for global warming than for global cooling.
It is all about the money. Always - just follow the money.

That may be true, but it seems the cooling predictions were hyped the most.

Specifically talking about the 1970s.
And besides, global cooling would be far more catastrophic than global warming.
If the goal was to scare people, global cooling is where the real money would be made.

By the media. Fear sells.

We are actually in the midst of a global cooling cycle. Climate is funny. It goes through natural warming and cooling cycles. And none of it has to do with SUV's.

Yup, and Time Magazine tried to exploit that in the 70's too.
