Going in late Oct with the wife and adult kids. Looking for the can’t miss places to eat. Kids are old enough to appreciate fine dining. We also enjoy the local dive.
The Grey is booked out.

Olde pink house (books usually about a month out)
Husk
Elizabeths on 37th
Treylor park if you want something a little different.
I'm a fan on little duck diner for breakfast/brunch
If you want more of a coastal vibe and want a drive out of downtown -
Wyld -(foods okay to good, but mostly there for the outdoor seating on the marsh)
Pearls saltwater grille - no outdoor seating but on the marsh with great views.

My favorites:
Lili’s- on Wilmington Island
King and I- for Thai
Crystal Beer Parlor
Kayak Cafe-for fresh light fare
Flying Monk Noodle Bar
Green Truck-burgers
I can second Alligator Soul for fine dining.
Pink House-iconic but didn’t enjoy the food as much

Sorry Charlie’s (seafood)
Alligator Soul (another vote)

Go to Plant Riverside.

The Collins Quarter for brunch is excellent. The dishes are large and you’ll leave stuffed. We loved it so much we went back a second time.
Pink House was ok but nothing special. I probably ordered the wrong dish.
Public Kitchen and Bar
Six Pence Pub for a sandwich
And we enjoyed Mirabelle Savannah for breakfast/coffee several times.
Great food and I’d definitely recommend Collins, just get there early as it gets packed

Most of the good stuff has been covered but I'd add:
Breakfast: B. Matthews
Snack in the historical district: Vinnie VanGoGo's for a slice
Fine Dining: Local 11 Ten
