Spending the weekend in San Antonio, 2 nights at La Cantera and Sunday night on the Riverwalk.

Recs for a place to watch the game Sunday night?

Maverick, Cookhouse, Chisme, Battalion, Boudro's and Sangria on the Burg all look worthwhile of a visit...any thing else?

We ate at a place called Bella on the River. It was very small and kinda cramped, but the food and wait staff were top notch.

Maverick is cool, they have a nice outdoor space but im struggling to remember if they had TVs out there. or if they have them in the main bar.

Still Golden Social House just opened across from the Pearl. La Roca Cantina has screens and is fun , but I’ve never been there during a game ... then there’s Burleson Yard Beer Garden which is aways my casual go to

from a native

Ray's is always my San Antonio rec. we love the Esquire Bar on the river also. I can't remember if they have tv's but the drinks are great.

Magnolia Pancake Haus is great. More then just pancakes.
La Panaderia for pastries and Mexican breads, sandwiches etc. So good we went twice!

Any thoughts for the Northern Loop area?

Not sure we will have time to get into town.

Bella on the river is great. Boudro’s was probably one of the loudest restaurants I’ve ever dined in but the food was good.

Evil Olive is a Saints bar. Just north of the airport. Get there early if you want a spot. As mention before, Burleson Yard and Friendly Spot for open air options. Bogside should have it on the big screen. Not the best environment to watch a game, but a good bar.

Stay away from Maverick. Decent bar, but food and service been below average at best. Battalion and La Frite probably your two best options in Southtown. There is a decent pizza place just south of Alamo called ll Forno.

Enjoy your trip, Who Dat!

Appreciate all the suggestions...I wasn’t impressed with anything about San Antonio 5 months ago, it’ll always be a third rate city in Texas.

I go to SA at least once a year for work.

If you’re not from Texas, 2M and the Granary have pretty good BBQ. There are some good Tex-mex places around like Rosario’s.

Everything else is mostly forgettable. I usually just go to Esquire Tavern several times.

ETA - nvm, just saw who asked this question. Not surprised by the disappointment. Esquire is a good spot. It may be worth going to 2M or the Granary just to see if they stack up to some of the other TX bbq joints.

This is why starting a new thread is better. OP was from August.
I did a search and tacked on a question. Haha!
