I had an awesome meal at Rosario's when I was there. Their frozen margarita's were delicious and potent as well.

Kids? If not, The Modernist is a really cool cocktail spot.

I don’t get the love for Rosario’s. Very average to me.

Go to the original location in Leon Springs if you do this.

Yes. I lived in SA in 06 and part of 07 constructing The Rim. Several good eats out that way, I just don’t remember the names of them now.

Joel’s Barbecue (Flatonia TX, 90 miles towards Houston) Brisket, Chicken, Ribs especially good. Great Sauce.

Bella On The River
Italian Riverside Dining on the Riverwalk. Wife loved the filet, I had the Pork Chop Milanese. Potato Croquettes were especially good. Bread pudding for dessert. Wife didn’t rave over the dessert, but the confectioners sugar on top was a great touch. Overall, worth a repeat visit. Small, intimate, great service.

First Watch (Breakfast) 830 NW Loop 410, 78216
A pleasant surprise, having loved the one in Clearwater Fl. Only been for breakfast, but they are open for brunch and lunch closing at 2p. Tucked into a large mall, they are a bit hard to find.

La Panaderia (301 E Houston Street Downtown)
Bread Culture! Lots of baked goods, we got a great breakfast there too. Worth the short walk from the Contessa. Walk up place, no discernible parking nearby.

Personal Favorite: El Mirador on St Marys
Go on Saturday just after lunch for the Mexican soups! One of a kind.
