Yes and a little cracked pepper. Same for cantaloupe.

No, and why would normal people salt watermelon which is bad enough on its on. I’ve had salted watermelon and it gives me chill bumps just thinking about it.

Never tried on cantelope

I had this conversation in Turkey a few years ago. People there are very serious about watermelon, buying several and letting them ripen on their apartment balcony. Invited to a private home for lunch, I salted my melon like I've done forever. My hosts were polite but disgusted!

I still salt but only in privacy of my own home.
