They are opening one down the road from me called Ruby Sunshine. What’s the FD board’s view on this place? Anything they do really well? I’m a fan of brunch but not sure about them closing at 2 or 3. They’re likely leaving a lot of $ on the table as this little neighborhood is in bad need of a place with a good bar.

Tourist traps in New Orleans, but the food isn't awful. Fine if you can walk right in, but not worth the wait they usually have.

Breakfast is the cheapest meal of the day..I refuse to pay $40.00+ for breakfast for 2. Russel's marina grill is the only place that I will stand in line for..The City Diner is not bad either.

Back when it was 1 then 2 locations it was the shite. Now that they’ve expanded so drastically it’s average at best.

Funny story, maybe, me and the wife did this cooking experience thing a couple years ago. Basically you go to some house Uptown and a NOLA chef demonstrates how they cook for a group of 10-12 people. Being big Top Chef fans, we signed up for one with Nina Compton. The owners of Ruby Slipper were also in our group, and the wife owner made it known very early, to Nina, that she was a fellow restaurateur. So every time Nina would talk about the biz, Ruby Slipper would chime in with her experiences. She was annoying as frick, the rest of the group was eye rolling Ruby Slipper whenever she spoke. There are also a lot of gems in this city that produce quality breakfast. I choose to keep those to myself, bc I don't want you heathens making me wait.

Instead of staffing, maybe they should be concerned about putting quality food out.

I don't know many locals who go there. The tourists eat that shite up. They don't know better.

Thanks to all for the feedback. Not great. I will definitely be forced to spend money in this establishment in the near future.

This is contradictory. Russel’s is expensive for breakfast.

Add two OJs and/or coffees, tax and tip and you’re looking at $35/40 for 2 people at breakfast. I don’t give a frick. I go there fairly regularly too but it ain’t that much cheaper than Ruby Slipper. Is it better? Absolutely.

This. I had some creme brûlée stuffed French toast from there one time that was ridiculous, but it’s kind of sucked the last couple times I’ve been.
