Didn't see this one coming: FOR SALE sign in front of Royal Panda. I've known the owner Peter for a long time and he was in business for close to 30 years. His original location was in the Golf Connection shopping center, where Blanchard's BBQ is. Arguably one of the better Chinese food restaurants and buffets in town. He was close to 60 yrs old and a real solid guy. I suppose a victim of the CV
Pretty sure his children moved away (Dallas ?) and were not interested in taking over the family business. Definitely gonna miss that guy and his establishment.

I thought Tony Lu owned Hong Kong Inn and Royal Panda?

Is that Tony Lu in the picture ? I've called him Mr. Peter a thousand times and he never corrected me. RP was close to my office and conveniently located for lunch or dinner.

I'm really not sure. Think I only went to Royal Panda once, but I went to Hong Kong Inn ALL the time growing up before they moved to Royal Panda. He was always Mr. Tony to me, but I could be wrong and he never corrected me

Googling tells me the owner is Hung Lu. Peter Hung Lu is kind of funny.
More Googling shows this: AKA:Hung Ton, Hung Lu Wu, Hung T Ld, Hung T Lu, Hung Ton Lu, Lu Hung, Lu Hung Ton, Lu Hung Wu, Ton L Hung, Tony T Lu

I thought so. But I hadn't talked to him in over 10 years so when I saw Peter in the OP, I thought maybe my whole life was a lie
