Here's the link.

This is really interesting. If I lived in New Orleans, I would be very inclined to take advantage of this. I hope it works out well. I'd just read that Brigsten's was closing it's take out after today. Hopefully, this helps some restaurants and a few employees.

ETA: added Lafayette. See my post below.

They’ll probably rebrand it with their label and call it their own.

Rouse's, and probably other groceries, are making money hand over first right now

The responses are odd. The money goes to the restaurants per the article. I’d be all over this. Probably buy a bunch of turtle soup for the freezer.

Rouse's is such a clusterf&*k (even before the virus), that the responses aren't that surprising. I will give the devil their due, and this is a good thing they are doing. Still, I'm not venturing in those stores.

send half these daily orders to a Metry location. They would sellout in a blink of an eye and we don't have to go into the wasteland.

I would hoard purchase Commander’s turtle soup.

I would too. The photos I saw were labeled Commander's with the price. No Rouse's label.

I'm sure they are properly labeled. When they first came to NO, they were brightly lit, clean, and the produce always looked fresh. Since they went on their expansion binge, these three things no longer exist. Plus, their customer service is just bad - they treat customers like they are a necessary evil. I've been to 4 different Rouse's in NO and have had the same experience in all. My guess is they may finally recognize that they have a problem since they have been doing some extensive survey work, which appears to be aimed at cleaning the stores and improving the produce.

Ye Olde College Inn is also selling dishes at Rouse's in New Orleans and in Lafayette/Youngsville locations.

Quote is from the Facebook page.

My wife didn’t feel like dealing with the Walmart crowds this week morning so I reluctantly went with her to Rouses. (She’d rather Rouses anyway.)
Shelves pretty bare on something’s. No bread just burger and hot dog buns. So it seemed.
A lady asked one of the workers when they would be getting more bread. We have bread it’s in the back but you can only have two I’ll go get the them for you.
Going though the store picking up a few items. Their orange juice same brand sane size $1.75 higher than Walmart. Get to the dairy Dept no milk. So it seems. My wife ask when they would get more. The worker there said we have some in the back. What kind you need.
Goes in the back, comes out with our allotted 2 gallons. Same for yogurt. Brought my wife a case of 12. Butter same brand same size 2.50 more than Walmart. Cheddar cheese same size same brand $2.75 more than Walmart.
This was in one if their Lafourche Parish stores.

I’ll gladly put up with Walmart people.

If I can save $20 - $30 on a grocery bill, I can deal with Walmart.
