Howdy baws, work has me in Round Rock Thursday night through Sunday afternoon. Looking for restaurant ideas. I'm staying near the Round Rock Med Center. Company is paying and my OT rich so money is no object. I know most of the great local BBQ is closed for dinner but Louie Mueller out in Taylor is open til 7. Does anyone know if they sell out of stuff though?

Thanks fellers

In the morning grab some Round Rock Donuts. They are amazing.

Then go to a destination bbq spot. I did KG but that's by where the old airport was.
Round rock has so many new places in more familar with Austin and most places I used to live aren't there anymore.

If you want to go a little NE, Louis Mueller’s BBQ in Taylor is worth it. About 25-30 minutes from round rock.

I’ve been for lunch on the weekends many times and been able to order pretty much whatever I would like.

They give you pieces of sausage to try before you’re done ordering.

Anyone been to Smoky Buns? Haven't been but somehow ended up on my Google maps for places to try if I'm up there. 15 minutes from the med center

Isn't Interstellar BBQ on that side of town.

Interstellar, Stiles Switch, and Peached Tortilla are in Cedar Park.

I’d jump my happy arse in a Waymo and go to Este, Suerte, Nixta, Cuantos Tacos, Paprika in Austin proper.

Traverse west to Interstellar.
There is a Salt Lick in RR but it's not the original.
Salt Traders is great but if you're traveling from Louisiana you can skip.
Have a meal and a beer at Pint House. Get a pizza roll.
Go to Georgetown and enjoy Italian at Tony and Luigi's.
Blue Corn Harvest just opened a RR location. It's excellent.
If you want to be hip, drive down to the Domain and enjoy Haywire, Plank, or Culinary Dropout.

Thanks fellas, I really wanted to do one of the BBQ places but most of them sell out quick and I can't be there until dinner.

Sushi Yume in Round Rock is some of the best sushi I've ever had. Get the chef's plate or whatever it is called. It's a curated plate with all sorts of sushi, and they give you extra stuff for free. The place is in a strip mall, so it's very unsuspecting.

If you want BBQ for dinner, just go to Stiles Switch either in Cedar Park or Austin. It's just as far away as going to Louie Mueller in Taylor. Stiles is awesome and you shouldn't have an issue getting what you want at dinner. Call ahead though before you go.

I know it’s a chain but it’s so good and consistent.

Just left Stiles Switch in Cedar Park, some of the best BBQ I've ever had, amazing brisket and turkey. Sausage was ok, tater tot casserole and potato salad also killed it!
