He probably did. He’s some middle eastern immigrant I believe and he didn’t take shite off anyone.
I remember after one football game there was a line of about twenty people. Some dumb skanks at the register were taking forever to decide and he walked up and just said I don’t care what you want, you’re getting the juicy juicy (name of burger nothing sexual. Although the burger is orgasmic). He hen proceeded to tell everyone in line he was making them a burger and today their $8 at the register. In about 10 minutes he made 20+ burgers and the were all divine.
Man I miss that place. Probabaly a significant contributor to my weight gain in college and subsequent weight less when I quit going.

$5 for a burger, fries, and drink on Wednesdays and Fridays I believe.

Went to the one on Highland once every month or two when I worked at LSU. I always thought the food was good for the price.
