I had the opportunity to eat at this restaurant yesterday while in Kenner/Metairie. Needed to find a replacement for Drago's, which was closed for a charity event.
It is located in Bucktown, a block around the corner from Deanies (on Metairie-Hammond Road - right across from the Coast Guard station and next to R & O's).
We had an appetizer of chargrilled oysters and onion rings. The oysters were very good. Nice sized and well seasoned and cooked. Definitely on par with Drago's. The onion rings were very crispy and flavorful (not soggy/greasy). Similar to the ones from The Chimes, but the onion slices were not as large.
As for entrees, the following items were ordered:
Grilled Redfish with grilled vegetables
Stuffed eggplant x 2
Ribeye
Softshell Crab special (over angel hair pasta with the same shrimp Lafayette sauce that was on the stuffed eggplant)
Softshell crab & backed potato (special request)
Aside from the steak being a little overdone (although, still very flavorful and juicy), it was an excellent meal. All of the seafood dishes were very fresh and well-prepared.
Dessert of cheesecake and banana's foster ice cream were very good (by report - I did not have any). Coffee was typical coffee/chicory blend.
Service was also excellent and the wait for our table was only about 20 minutes (we got there at 2 pm).
The total bill for six people eating all of the above was less than $160.00 (with tax, before tip)
FYI - There are two bars - one by the enclosed patio seating area and one in the main dining area. They are not stocked the same, so if you want a wider selection, go to the one in the main dining area.
Will definitely go again.

Used to go here at least once a week. Haven't been in probably 12 years

I would have never thought that place had been there that long.

They've been around awhile. I go to the one in Harvey when I go down there, they've been going downhill at that location, but it's one of my wife's favorites.

I highly recommend the voodoo rolls as an app next time. They are amazing

It's solid in Covington too. The child's shrimp plate is about 18 well sized shrimp. My kid eats about six, I get the rest.

The one in Bucktown is very good. Used to go there a lot more than I do now. They have really great specials. As mentioned its great bang for your buck. You will not go home hungry. They do a great job with the fried seafood.
This isn't your place if you're on a diet or trying to eat healthy.

I like it well enough. It seems to lure in some of the Deanies overflow crowd a lot these days and gets some big crowds.
Their patio with the fountain is one of the nicest outdoor dining places in all of Jefferson Parish

It's always solid. They've banned bringing birthday cakes because of a different crowd it has been drawing the last couple of years. It's kind of an odd policy but the waitress explained it to me and I'd rather not repeat what she said. Chicken may give me a timeout.

If they still have the Thursday lunch special of white beans and rabbit it is worth a trip there

Please say it. So people can determine if they want to give business to them
