My point being that reviews of large chains are usually frowned upon here.
Which is dumb. Mellow Mushroom has a better quality product than plenty of Mom and Pop type places.

Like I said, this you would think would be common sense.
Of course it is. That's the point.

Very true.
As does OG, RL, etc.

Nap, hope you're not talking about Amici. Yikes. Place is a major disappointment.

Then why are you asking how I know? I'm not really getting your angle here.

I enjoy your posts on here. Sometimes you are the only one who brings common sense into the equation.

Ya, my posts have been a bit obtuse.
It was meant as more of a generic question to whomever, and came out specific and directed.
I really only meant to point out that they are a fairly large national chain which some might not realize.

Proof that decent management, service, decor, etc can still be derailed by poor quality ingredients and incompetent cooks. No one at Amici knows how to properly use the oven...undercooked/flabby pizzas and ho-hum ingredients will be its downfall.

I believe you're missing the point. Chain reviews are not frowned upon because the quality is perceived to be inferior. It's because the likelyhood that many people have already been. MM has been around for many years, while it is new to Oak St. it's a well know brand.
It isn't some anti-corporate stance, just whether or not a review will be useful to people on the board. I just imagine a large majority of F&D members know what to expect at MM.

So this thread has turned into defending Olive Garden and Red Lobster?
great

In the small business community, it's widely known. Yelp hides behind the claim that the reviews aren't manipulated, but I personally know businesses who've been solicited with the offer to boost ratings and/or remove negative reviews. A quick Google search will show you it's far from an isolated practice.
I would say most if not all review sites do this. Look how hard it is to even leave a bad review at Tripadvisor. Two of my last bad reviews were not published. Yelp has a lot of bad reviews as does Urban spoon and I can see both offering to remove them for a fee.
Just like Angie's list, and it's charging monthly member fees, and charging businesses to sign up for it.

I was really sad to read the reviews of this place. My fiancee and I were excited to try it everytime we walked past it while it was under construction. Not going to after all the negative reviews from here and friends.

I wouldn't say it has, but you're the one that came in here bashing Mellow's prices and comparing their costs to much larger and inferior pizza chains.

explain why a national pizza chain that almost certainly uses less quality ingredients in all likelihood than Amici is still a million dollar company.
is it because Americans are willing to pay a few bucks for complete shite but not a few more bucks for something a little less shitty?

All I posted was that pizza is one of the highest profit margin food products. I didn't mention anything about additional overhead. I'm sure that plays into their higher prices, but that's their problem. It still doesn't mean their product is of value to me.
If you are okay paying $25 fricking dollars for a pizza with potatoes, bacon and packaged ranch dressing on it .. by all means be my guest. They wouldn't be getting my money for that though.

Actually you tried to label Mellow's cost based off what the big chains costs are. And I'm aware that basically no one's product is of value you to.

Honestly, I'm shocked anywhere gets your money. You are such a whiny titty baby in basically every review thread here. I'd feel sad for you if it wasn't so funny.

Evidently it's not ok to review chains
