We were there in November and liked:

Black Sheep and Harvest on Main for dinner
Southern Charm for lunch
Cantaberry for brunch
Fightingtown Tavern was solid for a burger/beer

All of these are on Main St., with the exception of Black Sheep, which is just off Main St.

Stop by this place, too many good things to buy! Was there about three weeks ago!

We were in the area last week, about 20 miles out of the city so we didn't eat many meals there, but I did pop into Chester Brunnenmeyer's for a beer and some wings that were decent. They have an impressive whiskey list too, didn't ask for prices though.

Also, stopped by Angry Hops Brewing and they had solid beer.

In that area, the little town called Woodstock, some of the better restaurants within a three block area. Prime 120, the owner and wife are good friends of mine.
Prime 120

Also, Reel another good one!

Reel

Also the same owner as Prime 120, Roberto's

Just a heads up, Blue Ridge to Woodstock is more than 60 miles. Easy drive without traffic. But its metro Atlanta so…

Woodstock does have good restaurants though.

So true, Roberto's opened just a few weeks ago, we were invited to the soft opening, we had an invite for 6, but then my other sister wanted to go, a call was made to the owner of the restaurant. Approval was given. The food and drinks were the best.

I drove from Woodstock, to Helen, then on to Blue Ridge, down to Ellijay, then back to Woodstock. Spending time in all the towns. All before the sun went down. It's not really a bad drive. Blue Ridge is mostly I-575, it's 63.8 miles, 1 hour and 8 minutes from Woodstock.

I usually like to hit Blue Ridge and Ellijay on the same trip.

I hit Helen, Cleveland and Dahlonega on the same pass.

Not on a Friday afternoon.
Can’t count on anything here.

That's about every city in the US. But I have very little trouble getting around on that North end of Ga. I do use the Peach Pass at times!

Will try to let you know next trip, lunch on me!

Sounds right. 90 miles probably. About 30 minutes longer than no traffic.

My only point initially was that Woodstock is not right down the road from Blue Ridge.
Lots of options closer.
Old Mulehouse in Jasper for example.
Or Rocco’s. A divey looking bar with good food.

Just an FYI, Black Sheep apparently doesn't always honor reservations once you have made them. You show up and wait, and they never seat you. It’s not a one time event, either. They’ve done it to multiple customers who’ve taken the time to leave reviews.

I would never go back there again if it were the last restaurant in Blue Ridge.

Well looks like we in McCaysville. Drove in to “downtown” for groceries and fell more in love with this area.

Cooked pre-made burgers seasoned with some famous Cajun 2 Step and spray butter along with couple hot dogs and tater tots on the pit this evening.

Anyone have info on Tooneys? Looks like a lil music venue.

Nice enough place. It's in this strange shopping mall that fronts to the River. The restaurants there are 6.5 out of 10. But you go for the river.

The better spot is the Waterfront Bar. Owned by a nice Sicilian guy. Some pretty dang good food.

Also, it's always fun to go to the Toro Inn in Blue Ridge. Retired Irish priest runs it, and many consider him the Pub-Nazi. But that's unfair, he is just one of those types of Irishmen who is like "well if you don't like how I do things, get the frick out"

Sue's in Blue Ridge has the best burger.

For donuts, G&G Bakery is great. They scratch make all their donuts. There's a couple other breakfast joints in Blairsville, unlike McCayesville or Blue Ridge. Grits and Greens, and Cooks Country. Both pretty decent.

There's a great cigar shop in Blue Ridge, right on 1st street, just off Main Street. Greta folks run it, and excellent selection. Me and the boys like to hang there a little.

That being said, Appalachia isn't known for great food.

My family has had a cabin in Blue Ridge for about 10 years now. We go about 4 or 5 times every year, and it's really an amazing place. Very down to earth.
