Heading there next week. Looking for some decent places to dine while there. Thanks.

Sadie's is great. It is well off the beaten path, but worth the drive. El Pinto is pretty good. There's a Barbecue place, I can't remember the name of that is great.

Seriously, go to Bosque Brewery and order the steak street tacos.
Or go to Boxing Bear Brewery and order their pork tacos.

Garcia's Kitchen, pretty good Mexican food.

I was there last week but only for a night before flying out, spent all week in Santa Fe. We ate at some burger place in Nob Hill, wasn't bad and had cold beer. Interesting part of town. You should have fun, I'd like to spend more time there on one of my trips.

we ate at a breakfast/lunch place on Route 66
close to downtown that was very good. DD&D featured it once. The name is Standard Diner. We would go again

El Pinto is ok.
If up near Santa Fe I like going to Gabriel's or the Tesuque Village Market. They smoke all their own meats.
I've been to While Hog Cafe for bbq but actually find it not as good as Rudy's which is a chain.
Farina Pizzeria has good gourmet thin crust pizzas.

ABQ, and NM in general, is one of those places where it's tough to NOT get good food. Sadie's is good and of the three locations I think the one on 4th street is the best. Church Street Cafe in Old Town is great with a wonderful setting. Perea's on Juan Tabo is excellent. Most places will ask if you want green or red (chile)with your meal - do yourself a favor and order "Christmas" which is both.
For something other than New Mexican (do NOT say Mexican, there IS a difference and they pride themselves on it) try Antiquity in Old Town. Someone earlier mentioned BBQ and the only notable place I've seen is County Line on Tramway.

Perea’s was my favorite. Country fried steak with green or red chile and eggs was my breakfast almost every Monday when I lived there. We used to go to Fri tier quite a bit as well for breakfast or lunch on the weekends. My favorite restaurant for dinner was Indigo Crow in Corralles. Los Ojos in Jemez Springs is a fun place and a really scenic ride if you are looking to get out of town.

It's been years since I was there, but Texas Land & Cattle was pretty good. I don't like soup much, but they had a Chipolte soup that was great.

Not a fan of the city itself but wouldn't mind going back for the sole purpose of gaining a few pounds. Reasonably priced too.

That's one of my favorite things about dining in New Mexico. While there are certainly expensive restaurants (Geronimo), you can eat delicious, well prepared food at just about any New Mexican restaurant with entrees ranging from 8-12 bucks. There's really no need to venture into the world of $18-30 entrees, unless you just prefer find dining.

My wife is from Albuquerque, so I've spent considerable time there over the years. My recommendations might be more in line with daily eating more than "you have to go there" type of thing.
The one place that we make it a point to go to is Sadie's for New Mexican cuisine. Their salsa is incredibly good and incredibly hot for your standard free pre-meal salsas. We always buy some at Costco when we are there and take it home with us.
Our favorite pizza chain there is Dion's. Pepperoni and Green Chile pizza is incredible. They also have good sandwiches.
Blakes Lotaburger is a good fast food burger chain in the area. I would only recommend if you have no time to sit down somewhere.
Twister burritos is a fast food burrito joint that is probably better than any burrito you've had.
The Frontier is off the campus of UNM and is great for late night food.
Weck's is a breakfast/lunch place that is incredible.
The Grove is also a breakfast place that is really good. They filmed some of the scenes in Breaking Bad there (when Walt meets up with Lydia).
Matanza is a place owned by friends of my wife and they have a wall covered with taps of all of the local beer. Food is good but a little uppity for my tastes when I'm visiting, but the beer offerings are awesome.

Mary and Tito's was selected by the James Beard Foundation in 2010 as one of their "America's Classics."
