Resealable tomato paste in a tube?

Anyone know where I can find something like this?
Every now and then I run into something that calls for tomato paste and I hate getting those small cans and only using half of it

Um the grocery store?
It's everywhere and all I buy. Keep it refrigerated and it'll last a long time.
I have in my fridge now,in tubes, tomato paste, garlic paste, wasabi paste, black olive paste, onion paste, sun dried tomato paste, chili paste, basil paste, horseradish paste and anchovy paste.
I use the hell out of all of them.

I'm with you on that. I rarely end up using the whole small can of paste before I throw it out.
I would think most grocery stores that have the garlic and pesto in a squeeze tube in the produce section should have it.

Tubes aren't expensive and you don't have to worry about thawing it out. I use it all the time with maybe just a teaspoon or so which makes it handy. Tube is like $2.00.

Is it in a refrigerated section somewhere or should I be able to find it by all the canned stuff?

They keep it in the tomato section.
Those guys with aprons on aren't going to bite you.

Buy the tomato paste when it's on sale 5 cans for a buck and just throw away what you don't use. You'll still come out ahead. The rest of the tube ingredients I like and use.

Nah. My wife does that shite and it just takes up all the pantry space. I'm no baller but I can splurge on a tube of tomato paste every month or so.
But I'll give you a canned tomato paste tip. When using, open can on both ends then push through. This is easier than trying to spoon out.

i just cut it with a knife and dont have thawing issues because it's going into a hot pan usually. the squeeze tube is undeniable more convenient, though.

Try the sundried tomato paste in the tube. Really a great flavor.
I use the hell out of the black olive paste probably more than anything. Little squeeze of that into anything and it really makes it pop.
And no one can tell you what it is.

I always buy a couple big cans of tomato paste and put it by the big tablespoonful on a wax paper covered tray until the cans are empty.
Freeze them on the tray until they are frozen solid, put into a zip lock bag and keep in freezer until you need it.
Then you can take what you need and keep the rest for later use.
Works great and the cans are cheaper than the tubes plus you have a bunch of it on hand at all times.

It's usually on like the tippy-top shelf and easy to miss.
When you find it, grab a tube of anchovy paste that will usually be in the vicinity. Great stuff.

Try someplace like Central Grocery, or some other such Italian store. I buy mine from Fresina's off Drusilla in BR. Never saw in in the grocery (Hi Nabor, Albertson's, Wal Mart), but then again, I'm not looking for it in those places. Hi Nabor does have anchovy paste...THAT adds a nice flavor to sauces.

I'm not that much of a connoisseur of tomato paste so it doesn't really make that much difference to me. I use it in dishes that it wouldn't matter. Only tomato sauce I make doesn't use it. Only crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, oregano and garlic.

I use the Amore all the time when I need a teaspoon or tablespoon of paste. Never had a negative experience with it. I keep it in the fridge and always have a spare on hand. It's convenient and serves the purpose for which I intended. I keep the cans on hand when I need more than that.
