Thanks for the concern. We went through today with no contact from Jackson Heart so we are still waiting for them to schedule.

This (pacemaker final battery death) has been going for 4 months now. Really getting to be a pain.

They put the pacemaker in back in Meridian days because my heart would stop beating for up to 10 seconds, causing me to pass out several times. Would like the battery to get replaced before that problem starts up again. Have considered calling my cardiologist friend in Meridian and going over to have him replace it, but hate to upset the guys at Jackson Heart, since they own my problems now.

I made mine last night, but didn’t like the result. Not sure if I’ll try to make another dish.

You people better get it together!

The diced ham looks like a thick pork belly which they probably used to make the creamed spinach.

Meridian, don't those batteries last 10 years or so? Don't put it off, and don't make my suggested entry if your heart problem is cholesterol related.

My pacemaker battery will be 13 years old in 2 months. Medtronic-ADDR01 with two leads. Installed 4/20/2010.

I have a 16 year old ST.Jude carbon fiber Mitral valve, installed in 2005, and because of that I take warfarin, which makes any surgical procedure more interesting because my blood doesn't want to clot. I learned today we may be able to avoid taking me off warfarin and onto heparin for surgery, off heparin after surgery, then back onto warfarin after taking me off heparin. Avoiding warfarin problems will make things go quicker when the guys at Jackson Heart can schedule me. Hopefully I will get a surgery date scheduled tomorrow. Cutting out the device, changing the battery, and sewing it back inside me will go pretty quickly. Hopefully with no complications.

I was an Operating Room Specialist in the military, followed later by graduate degrees in micrbiology, chemistry, and biochemistry then a career as a professional (R&D and Manufacuring QC/QARegulatory) in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry for almost 50 years, so I know more than I should about most surgical, drug and medical device concerns.

Yes, I am as old as the dirt of the earth. Anyhow, I climbed onto the pony, so I will ride it as long as the merry-go-round spins.
