For champagne? It absolutely does relate to the price, but I never said only. The price of champagne is directly related to the amount of work and attention to detail goes into the bottle. Nicer stuff is hand turned in the cellars for instance. It takes a long time. Part of the reason why the current vintage of Dom is 2009.

Usually, but sometimes it's just marketing, like anything else. As an example, Veuve Clicquot has been dining on its reputation for years, in my opinion. At roughly the same price point, I'd much prefer something like a Louis Roederer Brut Premier.

Veuve is only $45... Great bottle for that price. It's better than Moët IMO.
