I have two pots I use for cooking red beans.
One is a Mirro pressure cooker and the other Le Creuset stock part to cook the trinity and the meat and beans for the final.

It bothers my husband that both have picked up a reddish hue from the beans. I look at it as if it's the equivalence of Sterling Silver patina.

Has anyone tried to clean often used pots?

I was arguing with my wife over her choice of laundry machines. She asked me how much laundry I was planning on washing and folding. I bought the ones she wanted.

You can try soaking them overnight in Oxyclean. Get the scent free Oxyclean. I clean my homebrew kettles with Oxyclean and it works great.

E-Z Off oven cleaner will get those stains off of enameled cast iron pots, but be careful of your “dwell” time so that it doesn’t etch into the finish

Who cares

Also, why do you cook beans in two pots?

a little bleach and some water soaked for a couple of hours for enameled cast iron. if it needs some extra attention after that, fill it with water and set it on high on your stove and let it boil for a while then try to scrub it again

for stainless steel, bar keepers friend

for cast iron, steel wool or one of those steel link scrubbers by lodge. those plastic scrapers work really well for getting the stuck on grime out

Because the pressure cooker is Aluminum and I'm not comfortable with long term use of AL cookware. OTOH, I've had this cooker for fifty years and I know its foibles. It's only blown one time and that was with Great Northern Beans.
I can start the rest of the meal in the Le Creuset as the Beans are getting ready. (I do buy Camellia red beans in 25 pound sacks they are that important to us.)

Vinegar with a little water on simmer for half an hour is the old Ville Platte trick.

Bar Keeper's Friend. Will get the enamel back to original color very easily.

Bar Keepers Friend works pretty good to clean things like that without scratching them up. The stuff used to clean electric ceramic stovetops is another good option for cleaning and stain removal without scratching.

I have a tan La Creuset cast iron oval Dutch Oven that looks pretty bad on the inside. Cooks great and I usually look at the stained inner surface, shrug my shoulders turn on the heat and throw in the stuff.
