Husk.

Surely will get downvoted, so take each downvote as a vote against the obvious.

Tip: if they dont have a table just say you want to grab a drink at the bar then grab a open spot. Bar seats are 'reserved' too, but they won't kick you out your spot.

I’ve seen Husk talked down upon, but I had brunch there and it was awesome.

All the places in that area are good.

For lunch, check out Arnold’s.
Peg Leg is good.

Pretty much all of the places in the gulch are solid.

But the best places to eat steak and get drinks - for the ambiance & food - is Sperry’s in Belle Meade or Jimmy Kelly’s.

Grab some post meal drinks at The Patterson House.

I’d get some of that Nashville Hot Chicken at Hattie B’s before I left town. That spicy chicken is to Nashville what gumbo is to South Louisiana.

Eh, I'm not going to downvote you. But I will disagree.

The atmosphere is very nice, but when we went for dinner I was extremely underwhelmed by the food. Mediocre at best, and for the price definitely not worth it IMO.

But to the poster who said their brunch was good, I can't speak to that and maybe it is as good as advertised.

It was one of the best burgers I’ve had, my wife’s food was on point too.

Again, I don't claim to be an expert on Husk, just giving my experience for the OP. I couldn't even tell you what we had, I just remember thinking everything was alright. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. And when you spend $200+ on a meal I'd like to walk away satisfied.

I actually ended up grabbing a burger later that night because I was still hungry.

Had dinner at The Henley last time I was i town and really enjoyed it. Cool vibe, good cocktails and they had a couple of family style entrees that we shared for the table. One was a spatchcoked Chicken and the other might have been beef short ribs if memory serves.

Fin and Pearl or Le Sel for brunch.

I don't think I could live my life without Hattie Bs but I would never stand in that ridiculous weekend line for it.

Husk is pretty marginal. I went for dinner, though. Maybe I should try brunch.

Merchants
Martin’s BBQ

There’s basically a new place opening downtown every week lol. Those two are solid choices though for walking distance downtown.
