Sucks, not great service, salty food, and pre-made crab balls to list a few. Not sure what happened to this place because it wasn't always like this.

Roberto’s is the most overrated restaurant in BR. Tried it three different times, thinking it’ll get better, and never did. Their fish in paper dish is garbage, and nothing like Lagniappe. Very average food at a high price point in a shitty out of the way location- nope.

Interestingly enough I’ve eaten at French Market Bistro twice and have thought it was vastly overrated.

Everything I’ve had at Roberto’s has been excellent, but then again I’ve gotten more of the fried seafood.

Lagniappe is my favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge. I’ve had about 6 different entrees there and every single one was incredible good.

Porch light is our go to lunch spot for the office. I've never had a bad meal there. Nothing outstanding but consistent and solid.
Ce Cest Bon has really good oysters and his fried seafood plates are massive. I haven't tried his crawfish yet.
French Market is the best restaurant within 10 minutes of Airline/73

The last 3 times we ate at Porch Light it was below mediocre. I ordered the avocado and shrimp salad, it was served with no avocado, I asked why, server said they were out of them. I ordered a bowl of gumbo, I was served a cup, about a 6 oz serving, I told the server she made a mistake, I ordered a bowl, not a cup, she said that was a bowl. The next, and hopefully last time I ordered a reuben. The corned beef was sliced with the grain, it was shoe leather tough.

Roberto’s has some real tasty stuff across the board- However, be careful when ordering the “specials”. I got a grilled fish special one time and it was one little slab of grilled fish, green beans and mashed potatoes (which they make tons of every day) for $39!!
I was quite disgusted with that.

I've been meaning to try this place. I thought it was doomed with the timing and not being Drago's but it looks busy when I pass.

Quick story. I'm in medical field and worked Christmas Eve. Nothing was open after work. Called them up and ordered to geaux. Place was packed and freaking delicious. If you like shrimp get the royal reds...very expensive but freaking delicious (taste like mini lobster) with the butter sauce

Hot Tails has good food but not much atmosphere. If that's not important then that's a good choice. I prefer Roberto's. I think they have delicious food and everyone I know who has been recently has raved about it. If you go to Roberto's get the alligator appetizer. I'm not even a fan of gator but it's amazing. Great dipping sauce.
