Heading down to Baton Rouge in a few weeks and looking to make a pit stop at a brewery. I have some out of staters coming with me so was trying to give them a decent experience. My options that I have found are bayou Teche, Parish, Tin roof, and Southern Craft. I have been to parish and enjoyed it but just looking for opinions.

Gilla Brewing is a bit out of the way, not much on atmosphere, but the beer is fantastic. Rally Cap is new, a cool space, really great hazy IPAs.

As mentioned Gilla 25 minutes south or Gnarly Barley 30 minutes East of Baton Rouge.
If your headed to New Orleans check out All Relation, Urban South & The Courtyard. Cheers!!

I wish we were going that far to go to urban south but we have a concert to go to and don’t want to go too far. Gilla looks pretty cool that’s why I came here for something different might have to ride down there.

I'd go to Tin Roof before I go to Gilla.

Parish is definitely worth the trip out of your way, also Gnarly Barly is really good but 45mins past BR. Tin Roof is definitely a cool spot to hang with friends, and the beers are pretty good. Skip Southern Craft, the beers are just OK and the brewery setup isn't great. I haven't been to Gilla or Rally Cap yet but have heard good things from most

Parish/Gilla Best Beer
Bayou Teche best brewery
Tin Roof, average
Southern Craft

Also Rally Cap is decent and more room than Tin Roof

Beer wise I'd rank them
Parish, Gilla, BT, Rally, Tin Roof, SC

Brewery wise
BT, Gilla, Rally, Tin Roof, Parish, SC

Assuming you'll be downtown BR for the concert, Tin Roof will be the closest to you. Decent beer and plenty of outdoor seating if the weather is nice.

Gilla puts out great beer but is just a building in a strip mall so not much for an experience for your guests. They usually only have a couple of their own on tap but keep a steady flow of local new release taps that you can't find in many places. If your visit is more about the beer than going to a cool place then this is where you want to go.

Rally Cap is starting to get their footing and been focusing on hazy IPAs lately. They have a pretty cool building that's baseball themed with lots of TVs.

I’m really not sure if laffy does. Southern craft was only on there because I haven’t heard of them and though someone might give some insight I’m really not too worried about the live music and stuff because we are really just going to have a few beers and then go check into hotel etc

Then don't worry about a brewery, just go to The Chimes new roof top bar, The Bulldog, or the new Beer Garden over in Mid-City....

Just sayin, that's what I would do if I were me.

Are you coming in from the east or the west? Gilla if coming from the east, Parish if coming from the west.
